Professors of IIT Madras beyond the age of superannuation are eligible for consideration for Emeritus Professor appointment. Nominee should have had continuous service at the time of superannuation at IITM of a minimum of 10 years as Professor. The contributions made by the nominee in the last five years will be emphasized while making the selection. The number of Emeritus Professor will be restricted to a maximum of 5% of the strength of the each department.
