At least 10 years industrial / research / teaching experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIScBangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution / institutions of comparable standards. The minimum starting pay to be fixed in Academic Pay Level 14A at Cell No.1 Rs.1,59,100/–.

The Faculty member should have completed 10 years in the rank of Professor at IITs/IISc or a similar reputed University. The candidate must have achieved prominence at national level & should have achieved some amount of International reputation from reputed institutions abroad. The overall and the recent (last 4 years) research output of the faculty member including publications; guidance etc. should be significantly above the Institute and Department average. The Candidate should have consistently good teaching record.
